How to get started
We love new members and hope you will introduce yourself. It’s also the only time we encourage self promotion. Here's what you should include:
- Your name, your city and who referred you
- Company, role and an example of a piece of work you are proud of (you can also include your LinkedIn address if you'd like)
- Your goal in joining this community
- How you can support this community (We are powered by Tzedakah)
- (Optional) Throw in some fun Jewish geography!
How to write a great post
Great posts start by recognizing that this is a community of people who want to help you, but who also need you to be concrete and open about what you might be asking or offering. In your posts, please include:
- Who should pay attention to your post
- I.e. “Attention marketers:” or “Hello software engineers:”
- Who you are, your Linkedin profile link and how to be in touch with you concerning your ask
- Why you are asking or offering
- If you are making an ask, what you might be able to offer
- Your timeline (if applicable)
- If you are looking to hire someone: are you okay with recruiters and agencies in addition to individuals.
- This is a text platform - be sure your post is brief and fun to capture folks’ attention.
Provide Context for your Posts
Posts without additional context, including posts labeled as “forwarded” will be removed. Content should be modified and an explanation for why the content is pertinent to Jews in Tech should be added.
